Fieracavalli 2024
Fieracavalli 2024, an unmissable event and a reference point for the global equestrian scene, is just around the corner.
From November 7 to 10, 2024, Fieracavalli will be held in Verona, one of the most renowned international equestrian fairs and the largest in Italy, with a history spanning 126 years.
Fieracavalli is divided into themed areas, giving us an idea of how vast and inclusive this event is. The main areas can be categorized as:
- Sport and competitions
- Western Show
- Entertainment and Shows
- "Riding together"
- Art & Horse
- Breeding showcases
- Equestrian Tourism
- Commercial Areas
As previously mentioned, during these days the fair hosts various international equestrian competitions, including show jumping and western riding competitions. The most important event is the FEI Jumping World Cup, which once again stands out as the most anticipated event. If English riding isn't for you, you'll surely love the Western show, where you can admire American breeds such as Appaloosas, Mustangs, Quarter Horses, and Paints. In the western section, there are various competitions, including barrel racing and pole bending. Other must-see competitions are team penning and working cow. In the first, three riders must herd 30 calves into a pen in the middle of the arena within a minute. The second involves three trials where rider and horse work together to separate a calf from the herd and guide it into the pen.
In addition to competitions, Fieracavalli 2024 offers numerous entertainment shows for all ages. These include various activities for children, such as the "baptism of the saddle", where kids learn to respect and communicate with horses, even riding for the first time. There are also initiatives highlighting how the bond between humans and horses can help overcome challenges. One example is "Riding in the Blue", which promotes equine-assisted therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders. In 2020, this project was expanded thanks to Equiarte, which, along with the Rehabilitation Art Therapy Lab for acquired disabilities, promotes the connection between children and horses through art. Also related to art is the contemporary art exhibition "Art and Horse", curated by architect Federica Crestani, featuring this noble animal as the protagonist. This exhibition wouldn't be possible without the contributions of various nationally and internationally renowned artists showcasing their creations.
As for breeding showcases, Fieracavalli features approximately 3,000 specimens of 60 breeds, from Arabian to Iberian horses, Italian to American breeds. The fair also promotes knowledge of equestrian tourism, encouraging vacations immersed in nature and promoting the best offers from travel agencies and agritourisms. Finally, Fieracavalli always maintains its commercial side, offering a wide range of technical equipment and products for equestrian activities. From horse feed and supplements to riding gear and tools, you'll find various pavilions dedicated to all things equestrian.
Don't miss the opportunity to attend Fieracavalli in Verona. It will be an experience you'll never forget.
