Torri del Benaco

Torri del Benaco

Torri del Benaco is an Italian town, located on the eastern side of Lake Garda, in the Veneto region and in the province of Verona. In all it has more than three thousand inhabitants, and has, within it, two small hamlets - Albisano and Pai.
In this place, the first signs of civilization date back to the Bronze Age, this is testified by the fact that, during some excavations that involved the historic center, various ceramic and flint objects dating back to about two thousand years before Christ were found.
More significant evidence of human presence, already in primitive times, is then due to the large number of rock carvings found on the stones along the paths, remarkable both for the size and for the beauty and quality of the representations.

Torri del Benaco preserves the charm of the medieval town gathered between the walls and towers of the Scaligero Castle, built in the 1300s by Antonio della Scala and which still gives the town a magical atmosphere today.
The Venetian palaces overlook the marina and offer a spectacle to the eyes, made even more intense by those who admire this panorama from the lake itself, perhaps from a ferry that shuttles to the Brescia shore.
The beauty of the historic center, the mild and mild climate and the magic that it transmits to those who visit it, has made Torri one of the most prestigious locations on the Riviera degli Olivi, counting among its guests names such as: Andrè Gide, Stephen Spender, Laurence Olivier , vivine Leigh, Maria Callas, Jacques Piccard, King Juan Carlos of Spain.
The area of Torri del Benaco has always been used for the cultivation of vineyards and olive trees which, together with fishing, represented the only source of livelihood in the past. Tourism is currently the leading voice of the country's economy, with splendid accommodation facilities which, while maintaining their historic architecture, offer customers cutting-edge and high-level services. The offer of Torri is enriched by two pretty hamlets such as Pai, divided into two villages, one by the lake and one in the hills, and Albisano, a green balcony overlooking Lake Garda, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake.
For sports enthusiasts, there is no shortage of choice: bathing in the crystal clear water of the lake, sailing, surfing and walking, even by mountain bike, are just some examples of sporting activities that can be experienced in this area.
